Our Vision, Values & Ethos

Our Vision

At Impact Alternative Learning, our vision is simple:

To change the direction of a young person’s life — not just their education.

We work with learners who may have struggled in traditional settings and provide a fresh start built on structure, consistency, and belief.

Our aim is for every student to leave us:

  • With confidence in themselves

  • With skills for real life

  • With a clear path into education, employment or training

Our Mission

We exist to provide an environment where young people can:

  • Re-engage with learning in a way that works for them

  • Develop discipline, resilience, and self-respect

  • Gain recognised qualifications and practical skills

  • Build the confidence to make better choices and move forward

We do this through a combination of:

  • Strong relationships

  • Clear expectations

  • Practical, engaging learning

Our Values

1. Respect

We show respect to ourselves, to others, and to the environment.
This underpins everything we do.

2. Effort

We value effort over perfection.
Every small step forward matters — and we recognise it.

3. Accountability

We take responsibility for our actions and choices.
We support students to understand consequences and make better decisions.

4. Resilience

5. Progress

We help young people keep going when things feel difficult.
Setbacks are part of the process — not the end of it.

Success at Impact is measured by growth.
Where a student starts does not define where they can go.

Our Ethos

Impact Alternative Learning is built on a clear and consistent approach:

Relationships First

We prioritise strong, professional relationships.
Students are more likely to engage when they feel understood and supported.

Structure & Routine

Clear expectations, consistent routines, and boundaries create a safe environment where learners can succeed.

No One Written Off

We work with young people who may have been failed elsewhere.
At Impact, every student is given the opportunity to start again.

Learning That Matters

We focus on learning that is:

  • Practical

  • Relevant

  • Linked to real life

This includes both academic and vocational pathways.

High Expectations with Support

We do not lower expectations — we increase support.

Every learner is expected to:

  • Attend

  • Engage

  • Try

And in return, we provide the structure and guidance to help them succeed.

Our Approach to Behaviour

We understand that behaviour is a form of communication.

Our approach is:

  • Calm

  • Consistent

  • Restorative

We focus on:

  • Helping students understand their actions

  • Rebuilding trust

  • Supporting better choices moving forward

The Impact Difference

What makes Impact different is simple.

"We don’t just deliver education
we rebuild confidence, create structure, and change direction."
