Admissions, Visits & Induction – Impact Alternative Learning
Impact Alternative Learning is a specialist provision supporting young people aged 5–16 and post-16 up to 19, delivered across two sites to ensure provision is age-appropriate, structured, and responsive to need.
-
Key Stage 1 & 2 (Primary Provision): Based in Mossley
-
Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 & Post-16: Based in Ashton-under-Lyne
All learners benefit from small group sizes (typically 1–5 learners), enabling highly personalised, consistent support.

IMPACT Alternative Provision operates as a part-time, unregistered educational support provider. In accordance with the Education and Skills Act 2008 and DfE/Ofsted guidance, we do not deliver full-time education and are not required to register as an independent school.
We only accept placements where the young person is either:
- On roll at a school, or
- Named under an EOTAS arrangement in their EHCP (Section I).
Full Section F responsibility remains with the LA or school unless formally arranged through EOTAS.
- Section 19
- Day 6
Arranging a Visit
If parents, carers, schools, or Local Authorities would like to arrange a visit, they can contact us at:
info@impactalternativelearning.co.uk
Following initial contact:
-
A senior member of staff will make contact to discuss the referral
-
A visit will be arranged at the most appropriate site (Mossley or Ashton) based on the learner’s age and needs
-
Where appropriate, we can offer a home visit to support engagement and reduce anxiety
During this stage, we will:
-
Explore the young person’s needs, strengths, and current challenges
-
Explain our curriculum, structure, and therapeutic approach
-
Discuss any EHCP requirements or professional involvement
-
Liaise with the Local Authority, school, or referring agency
