KS1 & KS2 Provision

At Impact Alternative Learning, our KS1 and KS2 provision is designed to give young learners a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where they can begin to rebuild their confidence, develop key skills, and enjoy learning again.

Our timetable combines core academic learning with enriching, hands-on experiences, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed in a way that suits them.

A Balanced & Engaging Curriculum

Each day is carefully structured to provide a balance of:

• Functional Skills (Maths & English) – delivered in short, engaging sessions to build confidence and foundational knowledge

• Creative Learning – including Art & Design and Music to encourage expression and imagination

• Personal Development (PSHE) – helping children understand emotions, relationships, and the world around them

• Science & Discovery – exploring how things work through practical, accessible learning

We also place a strong emphasis on reading and communication, with activities such as reading circles to support literacy development in a calm, supportive setting.

Learning Through Experience

What makes our KS1/KS2 offer truly unique is our focus on learning beyond the classroom.

Children take part in:

• Animal Care – building responsibility, empathy, and confidence

• Food Technology – developing independence and life skills

• Physical Education (P.E.) – promoting health, teamwork, and discipline

• Swimming Sessions – supporting physical development and water confidence

• Forest School – encouraging exploration, resilience, and a connection with nature

• Nature & Environment Studies – helping children understand and appreciate the world around them

These experiences are designed to support social, emotional, and mental health development, while making learning enjoyable and meaningful.

Our New Site – Coming May

We are excited to be expanding our KS1/KS2 provision into our new site launching this May.

Set in the beautiful countryside, the new setting will provide:

• A dedicated outdoor learning area

• Direct access to nature-based activities on our doorstep

• Opportunities for forest learning, exploration, and outdoor play

• A calm, spacious environment designed to support wellbeing

This new space will allow us to further enhance our offer, giving children the freedom to learn, explore, and grow in a natural, enriching environment.
